In recent years, Utah has become the destination of choice for trophy elk. Each year, in many Utah units, state-wide record book elks are being harvested. There are many limited-entry units and Cooperative Wildlife Management Units capable of producing world-class bulls. A Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit (CWMU) is a large tract of private property that has been issued its own tags by the State of Utah and has given hunters the privilege to hunt elk with a rifle from the 1st of September to the 31st of October. Utah may be the only state in the U.S. to allow rifle elk hunting during the rut. Hunting elk in the rut while they are bugling may well be one of the most exciting hunts available.
We hunt on private lands in the Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit status, that are carefully managed to produce trophy elk and have boasted a success rate in the high 90s year after year. The majority of elk harvested falls in the 320" to 350" class range with elk exceeding the 360" class a real possibility. The largest elk we have ever taken on one of these ranches scored a whopping 428"! There will never be more than 4 hunters in camp at a time, thus allowing a quality, personalized hunt with no overcrowding. Tags for these hunts are guaranteed with no need to apply for a draw. We will send you all the paperwork necessary to obtain your tag. We are also very familiar with several limited-entry units throughout the state that produce huge bulls every year and can assist you in obtaining a permit for these units through the draw or the bid process at local conservation groups banquets and auctions. We offer archery, rifle, or muzzleloader hunts, and whatever option you choose, you will have the hunt of a lifetime. If you are looking for an elk hunt that we may not offer, let us know. With over 25 years experience in the business, we have a network of trusted, reputable outfitters that can offer you a quality hunt.
For the budget minded hunter who just wants to get out in elk country and take home some delicious meat, spike and cow elk hunts are available. You can take a spike AND cow, just a cow or spike, or an archery combination spike or cow/mule deer hunt. These hunts are semi-guided and license and tag are guaranteed. If you choose the combo archery hunt the mule deer tag has to be applied for but is traditionally 100% draw.
Landowner Elk Tags & Trespass Hunts
We are excited to announce the addition of several landowner elk tags and trespass hunts in Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. Landowner tags are guaranteed, you will still need the proper licensing through the state that you choose to hunt. Most tags are unit wide and will include private property to hunt, plus any plus any public ground in the unit. There are also ranch specific tags that allow you to hunt large private ranches within the unit. We have tags on units that constantly produce bull in the 280 to 330 range with tags on other units and private ranches that have and excellent chance of producing bull up to the 400 class. If you're frustrated with the draw and are just ready to hunt elk, give us a call!
